The BCI Annual Hawaiian Banquet
by Lynne Billie

What more could you ask for...a magical evening, unlimited drinks, a great dinner, an authentic Don Ho, dancing Hawaiian girls, the Hawaiian Wedding Song!! Mike and Shelley Perlin should stand up and take a bow! It was a fabulous evening and everyone enjoyed themselves. We were even treated to several BCI Hawaiian dancers, the guys were truly outstanding, totally hysterical, but totally cool! They received an outstanding applause for their great attitude and "great dancing ability". The girls were fabulous of course, following the lead Hawaiian dancer in their elegant hand movements and quick turn of the hips! It was a real treat and the party had just
begun.

Mike and Shelley, with the help of Tommie Kozlov doing registration and arranging the seating assignments, organized this whole evening. Did you notice those little creative "boxes" for the raffle prizes? And what about those beautiful center pieces on our tables? All handmade by Shelley and Mike in their spare time! The prizes were exceptional this year. I personally wanted those SIDI shoes, and put in 70 tickets, but lost to John Kneifl, who put in only a few tickets! Those shoes fit him perfectly, so I guess they were destined for his feet! I have to admit, he does looks great in them!

There were three awards announced this evening. Steve Devore with the most mileage, an incredible man, my inspiring rider of the year! Don Tillinghast won the Membership of the Year award, very deserving to a man who's been with BCI for many years and who has offered his incredible energy to us a thousand times over. I was very honored in receiving the "Spirit Award" an award that was installed in memory of Dottie Davis, the true "greeter" of our club for many years. We lost Dottie to lung cancer three years ago. I will always be grateful to BCI for this very special recognition.

On the next page [of the Pacelines newsletter] are a few pictures of the gang we don't see too often! I took over 100 pictures and will try my best to put them up on the web site or at least link them to our site.
